has acquired the trademark for AirDrop from Urban Airship, according to documents published by the US Patent & Trademark Office.

AirDrop was a service that helped developers promote their applications by making it easier to distribute apps to friends, fans, and reviewers. Once you uploaded your application to AirDrop, you could create custom redeem codes and links to share and distribute.
It’s unclear how much Apple paid Urban Airship to obtain the trademark.
