Chronic Dev-Team Releases Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 [Update]

The Chronic Dev-Team has just released the latest version of Greenpois0n, which features an Untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 without the need for SHSH blobs. The exploit they are using has already been patched in iOS 4.3.

Currently it is Mac only and is a beta release. A Windows version will be released “soon.” You can download the jailbreak from here or here or from I-TECHS link below:

Update:
We have been unsuccessful in jailbreaking using Greenpois0n due to the following errors that present on the iPhone. We will let you know when we’ve been able to jailbreak successfully.

Unable to find gBdevList
Unable to find fs_mount
Unable to find fs_unmount
Unable to find fs_load_file

Posixninja reports that these errors are normal. Presumably, the procedure shouldn’t hang at this point.

Update 2:
Partial success… Make sure to do a clean restore and to keep holding the home button until Greenpois0n tells you it has completed. Unfortunately, now Cydia is not appearing in the Loader app. This may be because of server overload.

Update 3:
Success 🙂 After numerous attempts at reloading Loader. Cydia has appeared. Servers are likely being slammed and download is taking forever.
